FOCUS - AUGUST 2015 29 MUSICIANS CORN ROAST Sunday August 16 Noon - 800 p.m. Once again this year Paul and Charlene Wasson invite everyone to their annual corn roast in memory of country musician Larry Dee. The event started over twenty years ago with 40 to 50 people and has grown to hundreds of people coming through the gate. Professional entertainers headline the festivities and there is a jam for everybody else who would like to play. There is something for everyone to do displays set up 5050 draw and games for children and adults and of course the best corn you could ever want along with hamburgers and hot dogs. This DreamWorks musical will be on stage at the Port Perry Town Hall 1873 for four performances Thursday August 13 at 700 p.m. Friday August 14 at 700 p.m. Saturday August 15 at 1100 a.m. and 300 p.m. Its a big bright beautiful world for everyones favourite ogre in Shrek The Musical JR. based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film adapted for young performers featuring a host of over-the-top characters. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show for the whole family. Vocally Inspired Performers has worked hard to bring imagina- tive sets and costumes to these familiar characters prove that beauty is in the eye of the ogre. You can expect full makeup costumes and some special effects as well. As an added bonus many of our performers will appear prior to show time for meet and greet opportu- nities. Come on into the patrons lounge at the theatre 45 minutes prior to show time. Enjoy some swamp snacks from our themed concessions area and meet various characters from the show. The Township of Scugog is hosting two free Movie in the Park events on Thursday August 6 and Thursday August 27. Movies will be shown in Palmer Park Water St. Port Perry beginning at dusk.
